- Automatic commercial ice makers are used in restaurants, bars, hotels, hospitals and a variety of commercial and industrial facilities for both food and patient care applications. The equipment is selected based on a combination of features that best fit the application. Common attributes include ice type, ice production capacity, ice hardness and ice clarity, as well as form factor and size of footprint.
- Batch-type ice makers harvest ice with alternating freezing and harvesting periods and can be used in a variety of applications, but are generally used to generate ice for use in beverages.
- Continuous-type ice makers produce ice through a continuous freeze and harvest process and include flake and nugget ice makers.
- ENERGY STAR® certified batch-type ice makers are about 10% more energy-efficient and 20% more water efficient when compared with standard models.
- ENERGY STAR certified continuous-type ice makers are about 16% more energy-efficient.

- Rebates are available to commercial and industrial electric service customers
- All commercial and industrial customers of Eversource and UI can participate
- Equipment must be installed in the service territory of the participating utility
Technical Details
- Pre-approval and a post-inspection from the participating utility are required if the rebate total exceeds $5,000
- Electric Ice Machines that are ENERGY STAR certified qualify for a rebate. Equipment must be rated on the ENERGY STAR website
What is the rebate process?
There are three ways to receive a rebate. The first and easiest is an Instant Rebate where you, or your contractor, purchases a qualifying unit from a supply chain partner. The second and third methods require you, or your contractor, to fill out and submit a form. Read more about the three options below.
Work with your Supply Chain Partner to identify a qualifying energy-efficient unit that works best for you and purchase from a Supply Chain Partner on this list to receive the instant rebate. The incentive is applied at the time of purchase.
